...many of these synthetic chemicals have not been approved by regulation authorities, but find their way into products and onto shelves through loopholes in regulations as much as a third of personal care products contain at least one chemical linked to cancer mineral oil and petroleum are the basic ingredients in many cosmetic products. ^[1]

Now some petroleum products are known to cause cancer, but just because mineral oil is from petroleum doesnt mean that its also a cancer causing agent. Some petroleum products contain compounds such as polycyclic aromatic compounds which are cancer causing, but mineral oil is not one of them. ^[2]
